The Tourism Business Coaching & Mentorship (TBCMP) is a skills development and coaching programme that aims to equip startups, small scale business operators and Entrepreneurs with tools and information to launch or reposition Tourism Businesses. TBCMP is a 3-month programme that hosts a series of bi – weekly sessions in – person and virtual. The 2023 programme is scheduled to take place from 13 May and end on the 29 July. The programme is run in partnership with several Industry Experts on voluntary basis with no less than 10 years’ experience in the Hospitality & Tourism Industry, therefore participants stand to gain wealth of knowledge.
This programme was launched in 2021 as an initiative by City & Safari International; a Botswana based and licensed MICE Destination Management (DMC) & Travel Planning Company, as contribution to the revival and recovery of the Tourism Industry at private sector level after witnessing the challenges faced by the industry in 2020. After the first programme, a demand was identify therefore found it fit to position the programme into an industry focused practical skills and development programme.
In 2022 we introduced a practical element to the programme and partnered with Desert & Delta Safaris for an educational visit to Chobe Game Lodge, the educational visit is aimed at exposing participants to the success story of growth, citizen empowerment and eco-tourism story of Chobe Game Lodge and dynamics involved in operating a safari lodge in a remote area. The programme is enrolling a maximum of 25 carefully selected participants of which 5 are sponsored by City & Safari International & Desert & Delta Safaris.
